Benefits that keep your people, built for a team of 5 to 50

Is this you? An owner or manager of a business with 1 to 50 staff.

Close the hiring and retention gap without overlooking business continuity.

For teams of 5 to 50, Vital Shield reviews group benefits, Health Spending Accounts and business-continuity options in plain language. A benefits package can support retention, but it does not guarantee that employees will stay.

The Risk Assessment is a free educational questionnaire about your income, existing protection, business and planning priorities. It adapts to your answers: 15–19 questions, with no medical questions. Allow about 5 minutes (estimated; take longer if you need).

You'll get your score and a call offer, not a sales pitch. The current Calendly session is 60 minutes.

Group benefits and an HSA, in plain language

Group benefits

An employer-sponsored plan can combine insured health, dental, life and disability benefits. The contract sets eligibility, covered expenses, limits and claim conditions; it does not automatically protect the business against losing a key employee.

Health Spending Account (HSA)

An HSA gives eligible employees an employer-funded allowance for eligible health expenses under the plan rules. It can complement insured benefits; it is not a substitute for every insurance benefit. Confirm eligibility and any tax treatment with your accountant.

What a review covers

Your 5–50-person team, hiring goals, eligible employee classes, current plan, employer budget, employee contributions, benefit limits, renewal arrangements and the impact of a key employee being off work.

Illustrative cost structure — not a quote

A sample structure is: employer share of the insured plan + any agreed employee share + employer-funded HSA allowance + applicable administration charges. Who pays which portion, actual costs and available coverage depend on the selected plan and provider. No premium, savings or tax outcome is implied.

Where your plan can be exposed

  • A basic plan may leave a hiring and retention gap against other employers.
  • Benefit costs and participation rules can be difficult to compare.
  • If a key employee is off work, existing benefits may not cover the business's disruption or replacement costs.

Questions and answers

Can a small employer offer group benefits?

In some plan designs, an HSA can help cover eligible expenses alongside insured benefits. Tax treatment and plan rules should be reviewed with qualified professionals.
